sm is mysterious
one day, sarah told me that she was going to cook a can of soup by holding it over an oven burner. (the moral of the story is even though it works in "the goofy movie" doesn't mean it will work in real life.)
and then, yesterday, she cooked some amazing greek food. i thought i knew her, but i guess sm is just mysterious.
here we all are cooking. (sorry for the bad pic of me; it was the only one i had)

some summer adventures
it's been really hot these past few days, so a trip to the provo river was in order. the water was freezing, but it felt great.

a retraction
i feel slightly guilty for saying how much i crave autumn. summer is great, too. (even if my shirt instantly sticks to my back as i walk to class, or if it's so hot in my room that i've considered sleeping in a freezer.) but i need to be better at enjoy each moment i'm in. i need to be better at embracing the now.
so, here it goes. i'm going to enjoy summer.

just a craving
i know it's summer. blah, blah, blah. but i can't wait for september. cause, come september, it will be the beginning of the best season known to man: fall, or autumn if you want to sound really cool.
just look at these pictures and crave autumn as much as i do.
photos credits in order ********* (the second to last image is a good image of my dream house.) also, i can't wait for my hair to grow out.

independence day thought
a lot of people think that the 4th of july was the day that america was created. FALSE. i like to think of it more as america's 18th birthday. it was the day we told our mother- england- that we could handle it on our own. our mother of course fought us, but we were emancipated and have been living quite well out by ourselves. now look at us. we're awesome. there's no denying that. and although our mother might not have always wanted to put our interests first, i know that she loved us. example: england is basically our closest ally. name a nation that we are closer to. oh, you can't? case proven.
alright, everything written above might be an example of the silly things i think. and i may often seem incredibly unpatriotic. but, i do love this nation. we have so many rights and freedoms. we have done so much good for the world. we are a land where speaking one's opinion is not only acceptable, but encouraged. we've made leaps and bounds scientifically, socially, and technologically. we might have many areas to improve on, but i still think that we are pretty sweet.
i'm grateful for this country and my part in it.
happy celebration of your 18th birthday, america.
