Drumroll please...
the answer to the last post is a little political. sorry.
i just think it's wrong that i was the only person who helped a beggar outside of a ridiculously expensive pastry shop. i stood there for fifteen minutes, and no one even looked at the beggar.
it just made me sad.

Meet Hélène.
Hélène.
Age: 84
Hélène is a true Parisian. She lived in Paris for her whole life. Her parents lived in Paris for all of their lives. Her father fought for the French Resistance. Sadly, he was killed by the Gestapo, along with her older brother. Her mother secretly took up where he left off. Hélène was one of those girls who ran out to greet the victorious American soldiers with kisses and hugs. Her sister married a GI and moved to Michigan. Hélène was married a few year later to an army doctor, Jean-Luc. They lived happily together for 40 years. They had three lovely children together. Those children grew up, got married, and had their own children. Hélène and Jean-Luc had a very happy life, but last fall Jean-Luc died of a heart attack. Now, Hélène lives with her daughter and their family.
*author's note: this is one installment of many. no, it's probably not true. but i like making stories up about people. enjoy.
Time to Say Goodbye.
First of all, I love the Office. I do. It makes me laugh out loud EVERY time I watch it.
But... all good things must come to an end, or they get dragged out for years and years, and before long, you're looking at a new "Friends." Perhaps, it's time for the Office to bid adieu.
Jim and Pam have taken over the show. It's all about them. I love them, and I always wanted them to be together, but still... it used to be Michael's an idiot, Dwight's a suck up, and Jim plays pranks on him. That's the Office I loved. Now, I don't know. It's different.
I want more of Creed. I love Creed. Season 3 was so fun, cause you really saw the very bizarre side of Creed.
So, the Office is still good, but soon it won't be so good. They should think about stopping after one more season. End while you're burning, don't sizzle off.
What do you thing?

Finally!
I'm finally in Paris, and not just that, but I finally got my internet to work. thank GOODNESS! I was going to die if I couldn't have the internet. Just a quickie on my life so far:
- I'm living outside of the city, in Croissy-Sur-Seine. My host family is VERY nice, but there are some very interesting quirks about them... more to come.
- I love the city, but in all actuality, I think I like London more... we'll see. Tomorrow I'm doing a "Get Lost" walk and will do major people watching. Maybe that will change my opinion of Paris.... more to come.
- I'm sick. Already? I have a really yucky cold, but I can't find sudaphed ANYWHERE! Boo.
- My head hurts from all of this French.
More to come.

Birthday Countdown
As requested by a few, and through my own materialism, I am going to count down to my birthday by sharing an object or two I have on my wish-list. (How terrible am I?!)
** Note: if any one thinks I am a selfish, consumerist pig, just know this is a WISH-list emphasis on the wish. I do not expect any of these things to magically arrive on my doorstep for my birthday. I won't even be disappointed if they don't. I just like sharing current lusts. **
XANDRA LACE EARRINGS by WHITEOWL. Price: $22
Dark but romantic.
Also,
PEASANT-TIED CARDIGAN by ANTHROPOLOGIE. Price $68
Yum.
