Sunday Morning Loveliness
This morning I curled up on my couch, with the windows open, listening to the world outside, and reading the loveliest book ever written, Les Misérables.
After reading a few chapters, I played the piano until I had nothing to play.
It was a lovely way to spend a morning.

Perfection, thy name is...
Unfortunately it's $49, so it's a bit expensive.
I proceeded to find this hat from Decadence, Vintage Clothing.
It's £25. A little more affordable.

Kinda Off...
It started off really good. I ran 2 miles with my mom. (Keep in mind that this was my first time running for a few... maybe 8 months...)
Then, I had a big, scrumptious omelet for breakfast. Then I did schoolwork....
But then I had a big emotional, physical, and psychological crash. For reasons unknown.
Now, I just stare at this picture, and listen to Leonard Cohen sing Hallelujah.
Au Revoir, for now
I miss them already. Not a promising start.
Now before everyone asks what we did, here you go:
Jen came on Thursday so we had a picnic in Hyde Park, played in Leicester Square, saw the play the 39 Steps (so good!). Then, we spent a day in Oxford and at Blenheim castle. The next day we toured the National Gallery, saw a matinee of Les Miserables (amazing!), then spent the rest of the day cozy on the couch. It was a rainy day.
Katie flew in on Sunday, so Jen and I went and picked her up from the airport. Her flight came in two hours late. I got impatient. Then, we spent the day lazy.
Our activities with Katie included:
- the London Eye
- Westminster Abbey (for Evensong)
- Buckingham Palace, and the Palace Mews
- the Tower of London
- St. Paul's Cathedral
- Hamlet, with Jude Law. (AMAZING!)
- Kensington Palace and Gardens
- the V & A Museum
- Portobello Road market
- A matinee of Peter Pan, preformed in Kensington Gardens (how authentic!)
- Triolus and Cressida at the Globe Theater
- a day trip to Bath, along with a tour from Bath, through Lacock, and onto Stonehenge
I'm sad they're gone.
Katie, Me, and Jen at Stonehenge
Reenacting the scene from Harry Potter where "He Who Must Not Be Named" kills Lilly Potter. (I'm Voldemort, Jen is Lilly, and Katie is the baby Harry Potter.)
London from the St. Paul's Cathedral Dome
The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben Clock Tower
Blenheim Castle (the childhood home for Sir Winston Spencer Churchill)

I'm So Excited!
This week is going to be Christmas is July! On Thursday my BEST-EST FRIEND in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD is coming to visit me! (Can you tell I'm excited by how I use CAPS?) I haven't seen her for ages (since March- and that's a LONG time!), so I am more than thrilled she's coming for a little more than a week! AHHHH!
We spent most of High School as best buds. We even worked together! I love her so much, even if she loves Twilight, and High School Musical! Nora-Bear, if you're reading this: I'M SO SO SO EXCITED!
Then, it gets even better... on Sunday, another one of my best buds comes out to visit! Ahh! It's going to be SO much fun!!! Just like the ol' days. Katie, je suis tres, tres, tres enthusiaste (pas excite!)
4th of July Weekend
Funny thing about being an ex-pat. You really miss the USA at times like these. Although I had no fireworks, I did have a good weekend. This is what I did:
- Saw the Importance of Being Earnest at Regent's Park Open Air Theater
- Played with friends and family
- Had cherry coke floats with other ex-pats from church
- Did loads of schoolwork- I'm still behind though
- Went to an AMAZING exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts for J.W. Waterhouse
- Enjoyed the fantastic weather
How was you're 4th weekend? Any fun BBQs or firework shows? Jealous.

Meepers?
Odd title. Odd subject matter. Today is already an odd day. I slept in for one- never do that. Anyways, on with the story....
A few years ago, my lovely, but kinda crazy sister Laura, wanted to mess up the lives of our nieces and nephew. Is there a better way to do that than teach them something totally crazy? No. She taught them that giraffes say "Meepers." Yes. Meepers.
Now it's a huge joke in my family. My father dear, LOVES to say "meepers." He says it in this really pathetic, baby giraffe voice. It's really cute. I call him "Papa Meeps" now. I how my children call his "G'ampa Meeps."
Crazy family jokes.
Do you have any weird family jokes?
