Odd title. Odd subject matter. Today is already an odd day. I slept in for one- never do that. Anyways, on with the story....
A few years ago, my lovely, but kinda crazy sister Laura, wanted to mess up the lives of our nieces and nephew. Is there a better way to do that than teach them something totally crazy? No. She taught them that giraffes say "Meepers." Yes. Meepers.
Now it's a huge joke in my family. My father dear, LOVES to say "meepers." He says it in this really pathetic, baby giraffe voice. It's really cute. I call him "Papa Meeps" now. I how my children call his "G'ampa Meeps."
Crazy family jokes.
Do you have any weird family jokes?

Chill Tuesday
From Ireland '09 |
Today I was really lucky with my lastfm radio, and I kept getting amazingly chill songs. It was amazing! It also made for excellent background music for my school work. I got a lot done.
I just wish I could find a tree like this and write my research paper in its shade, while listening to this music of course.
Here's the playlist I came up with.
I also really liked these songs, but I couldn't find them on on playlist:
The Pledge- Brendan Benson
Riverside- Ollabelle
Almost Persuaded- Etta James
Everybody's Talking- Fred Neil
Sally- Johnny Flynn
Music to My Ears- Ron Sexsmith

The Emerald Isle
Just got back from the most beautiful country in the world: Ireland. Every inch of it was just beautiful! We got really lucky with the weather: sunny, warm. Only a few days were rainy or overcast. which is Ireland's most common weather patterns.
I saw no leprechauns, or rainbows. Great trip anyway.
Here are some pictures. By some, I mean a lot. Sorry.

Summer
This song makes me think of summer. Besides, the video is just so fun!
Whenever I listen to it, I want to eat an ice cream cone and ride a bike.

God Bless Our President
If you haven't watched, listened or read this speech, you must!
President Barack Obama says everything that I've been thinking for the past year or so. He's just much more charismatic than I am. This is a historic speech, and I can't wait to see its effects.
Ahh, what a perfect way to start the day.

A Little Pick Me Up
Last week, I was feeling down, so I bought these lovelies to give me a little emotional boost. Aren't they just lovely?

The earrings are just so sweet I couldn't resist. I love the hint of blue. Just charming.
The bobby pin is a recycled vintage blouse. Isn't it darling? Now that I'm growing out my hair, it is the perfect accessory. I can't wait to wear it with the earrings.
I got these lovelies and their photos from The Intrinsic Garden. Go there. You'll find the most lovely things, and they aren't that expensive. The earrings were $16 and the bobby-pins came in a set of two for $8. Not bad at all.
Another part of my pick me up buy was 11 CDs from HMV. They were having a huge sale, and I got all the CDs for less than £30. Sweet, huh? I got two Bob Dylan, two White Stripes, one Beck, one Raconteurs, one Red House Painters (pictured above), and two Brendon Benson CDs. I have no need for new music for.... a month at least!
