The Dark Knight

Last night I had the wonderful opportunity to watch "Batman: the Dark Knight." I was so excited to see it because the trailers looked amazing. I was a little disappointed though. The acting was good, the plot line was good, the directing, the cinematography, everything, but, for me, it was too dark.
Joker was a villain driven by social experiment. He wanted to prove that deep down everyone only cared about themselves, and would do anything to save their own skin. He often would say, "Kill this person, or this really bad thing will happen." He was also one of the darkest villains I have ever seen. He was fine killing people and talking about it so nonchalantly. I had to shut my eyes at one part.
Another problem with the movie was the girlfriend, Rachel. She makes no sense. If you recall from the last movie, she told Bruce that she couldn't date him because he wore a mask or something. That didn't make sense to me. Then, in this movies, she takes it to the next level by saying, "You will never get be able to get rid of Batman." Or something like that which made no sense to me.
All in all though, it was a really good movie, and I might want to buy it. However, I wouldn't take anyone under 13 to it. It was that dark.

I agree wholeheartedly with your review. The Joker really gave me the creeps and made me sick to my stomach with some of the things he did. I cringe every time I hear/see the phrase, "Why so serious?" One thing is for sure though...as my brother said, Heath Ledger will go down in history for playing one of the greatest villains of all time.
